This is the Special Hobby 1/72 Scale Delta 1D/E US Transport plane Plastic Model Kit with Australian Decals Included. The Special Hobby 1:72 scale model kit of the Northrop Delta 1D/E US Transport Plane offers a detailed recreation of this historic aircraft designed by Jack K. Northrop in 1932. The Delta was a single-engine, all-metal low-wing monoplane initially intended for short domestic routes. The Delta 1D/E variant featured a wider cockpit for a two-pilot crew and an expanded dorsal fuselage, making it a significant advancement in aviation design. The Delta 1A's crash led to a US ban on single-engine planes for regular passenger transport. However, the Delta saw military and civilian use. Some served with the US Coast Guard, US Corps of Engineers, and the Royal Australian Air Force during WWII. This kit includes Australian decals, allowing you to replicate the aircraft's service with the RAAF. A perfect choice for aviation enthusiasts and modelers alike, this kit captures the Delta's unique design and historical significance.
