SKU: MM-TS-039 | Brand: Meng | Product: Meng 1/35 German Tank Destroyer Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther Ausf. G1 Plastic Model Kit The Jagdpanther differed fundamentally from the StuG III assault gun in its design approach, incorporating shared components with the Panther tank rather than representing a modified fighting compartment retrofit. This arrangement resulted in distinct development paths between the two platforms. The Jagdpanther's primary armament consisted of an 8.8cm Pak 43 L/71 anti-tank gun, technically similar to the King Tiger's 8.8cm KwK 43 with only minor variations. Armor protection proved exceptional, with the 80mm sloped front hull providing superior defense compared to Tiger I specifications. The 50mm sloped side armor ranked among the finest WWII protection standards. The identical powerplant delivered excellent mobility characteristics. Production spanning eighteen months yielded approximately 400 units despite intensive Allied air operations, predominantly Ausf. G1 variants. This TS-039 kit includes a movable main gun and commander's telescope, two mantlets, and four mounting brackets for the mantlet assembly.
