Produced by ZiL (Zavod imeni Likhachova), a renowned Russian truck manufacturer, the ZiL-131 was introduced in the late 1960s as a replacement for the aging ZiL-157 and became one of the most widely used military vehicles in the Ukrainian armed forces.

Designed for off-road and on-road capabilities, the ZiL-131 boasts impressive reliability and robust construction, making it suitable for various military applications.

Its 6x6 configuration provides excellent traction and allows it to traverse challenging terrains, including muddy or snowy landscapes.

The truck's high ground clearance further enhances its cross-country performance.

The ZiL-131 has a simple and functional design, featuring a crew cab that can accommodate a driver and several passengers or cargo.

It has a payload capacity of several tons, enabling it to transport troops, supplies, and equipment efficiently in both tactical and logistical roles.

In addition to its military applications, the ZiL-131 has also been adapted for civilian purposes, such as firefighting, humanitarian aid missions, and general cargo transportation.

Due to its long service life and wide production, the ZiL-131 has seen deployment in various conflicts around the world and has earned a reputation for its durability and versatility.

Even after several decades since its introduction, many ZiL-131 trucks remain in service in different countries, a testament to the soundness of its design and engineering.
