These officers directed operations across all theaters of World War II and required reliable transportation. The Daimler-Benz G4 (W31), introduced in 1934 and produced through 1939, served as the primary staff transport vehicle. This four-door convertible sedan featured an 8-cylinder engine producing 100 horsepower (upgraded to 110 hp in later production) and accommodated six occupants. Selected vehicles received MG 34 machine gun installations—either single or dual mounts—to provide armed protection for staff convoys and personnel in the field.
