Why this kit matters The U-2R "Dragon Lady" is one of the most iconic surveillance aircraft developed during the Cold War.

Originally designed in the late 1950s, the U-2 became famous for its high-altitude reconnaissance missions over hostile territory, notably during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The "Dragon Lady" variant, introduced in the 1970s, featured modernised avionics, longer wingspan (Senior Span), and improved mission capability.

Despite its ageing design, the U-2R remains in service for reconnaissance purposes, marking it as an enduring symbol of American aerial surveillance prowess.

This model captures the U-2R’s distinctive features with precision, making it an ideal subject for history buffs, aviation enthusiasts, and those interested in military reconnaissance aircraft.

The high level of detail and accurate proportions make this kit perfect for anyone looking to assemble a model that represents a key moment in Cold War aviation history.

How to use it Build using plastic modelling glue, cutters, and a hobby knife for precise assembly.

Paint with military aircraft colours, focusing on the aircraft’s dark grey and other details.

Apply the included decals for a realistic finish.
