Following on from its earlier release of a .30-cal MG, Dragon has produced an astonishingly detailed 1/6 scale kit of a .50-cal heavy machinegun. This beautifully molded weapon is bristling with detail, including a significant number of moving parts for absolute realism. The weapon can traverse and elevate on its M3 tripod, and the feed cover can be opened to allow insertion of an ammo belt. The model even mimics the weapon's bolt action too. The weapon itself is accompanied by an accurately proportioned tripod that can actually be folded up! Further accessories like an ammunition box (suitable for the modern era) and ammo belt are included with the kit for maximum practicality. This model is suitable as a centerpiece of a display all by itself, or it has multiple applications in a vignette or diorama scene with appropriate figures. This highly effective and popular machinegun now has an equally effective 1/6 scale model counterpart!

Surely one of the most famous machineguns in the world today is the M2 Browning .50-cal heavy MG. It dates back to the end of WWI to the time John Browning designed it, and the fact that it's the longest-serving weapon in the U.S. inventory bears testament to the enduring success of its design. The Ma Deuce has served in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and in the modern conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not only is it a staple in the U.S. arsenal, but it's also the primary heavy MG in numerous other countries too. When fired from its associated M3 tripod, the .50-cal has a maximum effective range of 1.8km, and it's equally devastating against enemy personnel, light vehicles or light fortifications.
