SKU: ART-22453 | Brand: Artesania Latina | Product: Artesania 1/75 Bluenose II Wooden Ship Model [22453] This 1:75 scale wooden model captures the Bluenose II, the renowned Canadian schooner that served dual roles as both fishing vessel and racing competitor during the 20th century. Appropriate for modelers possessing intermediate-level abilities, the kit features high-quality components and employs a false keel and frame construction system. BLUENOSE II: CANADIAN SCHOONER LEGACY The original Bluenose emerged from competitive ambition—constructed to avenge the Delawana's racing defeat against the Massachusetts vessel Esperanto. Throughout its operational life, the Bluenose balanced success in regattas with the demanding work of commercial fishing until 1946, when it encountered a reef off Haiti and was lost. The Bluenose II, an accurate replica launched in 1964, perpetuates the original's legacy as an ambassador and symbol of Lunenburg. The modern vessel continues active service today, representing its home city while maintaining the traditional sailing heritage of Atlantic Canada.
